**Graphic **United States of Hypocrisy | US Terrorized Iraq

February 8, 2024 in Uncategorized

In light of the recent Boston Marathon Day bombings, many have once again been motivated by fear to single out and scapegoat a certain segment of the population, Arabs and Muslims, in an attempt to hold them responsible for the violence that took place April 15, 2013. Given all the negative aspersions being caste on Muslims as well as foreigners and perceived foreigners in general this past month, it is perhaps more important now than ever before to look back on a very different April back in 2004, exactly nine years ago today. It was on the evening of Wednesday, April 28 that CBS’s 60 Minutes first broke the news that shocked the nation and the entire world. They had obtained 8 exclusive photographs of prisoners detained in Abu Ghraib prison in Baghdad, Iraq being physically and sexually abused by none other than United States military personnel, and the question on everyone’s mind was whether or not this was official U.S. policy, or was it just a couple of soldiers “gone rogue.”

These photographs came to light only because a member of the 372nd Military Police Company, Spc. Sabrina Harmon, took pictures of the torture they inflicted and sent them to friends back home in an apparent attempt to boast about how “tough” she was being with these “terrorists.” Of course, in reality the U.S. military’s victims in this case weren’t “terrorists” at all. According to the military’s own intelligence, which was in turn relayed to the International Red Cross, up to 90% of all inmates interned in U.S. occupational prisons in Iraq, in addition to CIA “black sites”, were innocent and never charged with a crime. Instead they had been turned based on bogus information relayed to them by anonymous citizen “sources”, who in turn were simply responding to U.S. fliers notifying citizens that they could receive thousands of dollars in reward money, paid out under condition that they provide information on people who had “links to terrorism.” But what these painfully graphic photographs demonstrate is that terrorism is by no means exclusive to any cultural, regional, or religious population. The men and women held captive at Abu Ghraib prison and tortured throughout the year 2003 each had families, loved ones, hopes and aspirations much the same way as each and every one of us does. But unlike many of us, they were forced to suffer through unfathomable brutality and humiliation at the hands of their American captors, all in the name of U.S. Imperialism. What’s more, it’s easy to look at these images with disgust and anger directed at American soldiers who could commit such horrendous acts of torture, as indeed we should. But ask yourself: how different are they really from us? By “us”, I refer to the collective values that define us as an American people, who sat by helplessly, watched and even supported this war and countless others – from Vietnam to Afghanistan. It is absolutely essential to understand that neither these wars nor the horrific events unfolding in the pictures below ever could have happened without the public first being desensitized to certain segments of the human population. Throughout American history, groups who have been victimized by this sort of “us vs. them” mentality have included Native Americans, African Americans, Asians (especially the Vietnamese), and now Muslims. This IS in fact what War is in its most naked form. Once all the rhetoric of bringing “freedom” and “democracy” is stripped away, we are left with little, if anything, gained for the betterment of the vast majority of people. If this is indeed what “true democracy” looks like, do you really wish to partake in it?

Sergeant Ivan “Chip” Frederick seemingly enjoys watching detainees chained in brutally uncomfortable stress positions in these photographs. He was a “correctional” officer in the state of Virginia before being stationed at Abu Ghraib in Baghdad in 2003.

Spc. Charles Graner seen here was known as the “ring leader”. He was eventually given the harshest sentence for these photo leaks of all those who were indicted in the case. He received the highest prison sentence of those charged – 10 years, although he only served 6.5 of these. Sergeant Ivan “Chip” Frederick was given a sentence of 8-years, while Pfc. Lynndie England was sentenced to 3. No one else served more than 1 year. Not coincidentally, those at the higher end of military and Intelligence Command were never investigated nor indicted. All in all, 11 low-ranking soldiers faced some sort of penalty in the end.

By far the most famous photo that emerged from Abu Ghraib, the detainee seen here is being tortured through a tactic which originated in Brazil known as “the Vietnam.” It is a torture method in which the victim is made to stand in a stressful position on top of a box, deprived of sleep for hours upon days, and threatened with electrocution if they should lose their balance and fall off. According to a documentary which aired on HBO called “Ghosts of Abu Ghraib”, the fact that these tactics were used is noteworthy because it demonstrates that this wasn’t a case of “a few bad apples” of the U.S. military who “went rouge”, for lack of a better term. They were obviously trained in these tactics.

A detainee who’d somehow had two of his fingers burned off, becomes the butt-of-a-joke to serve the guards’ tasteless humor, who refer to him mockingly as “The Claw” seen written on the back of his orange jumpsuit

Charles Graner Jr. and Sabrina Harmon pose over the corpses of men allegedly beaten to death by CIA interrogators or private interrogators. The victim seen here is said to be Manadel al-Jamadi, a “ghost prisoner”; meaning he was unidentified by agents involved in his capture and his death went unrecorded.

The man seen here, covered in mud, suffered from severe mental illness and was prone to harming himself. The staff at Abu Ghraib took delight in this and found it quite humorous. Here he is, legs chained, and covered in mud and feces, forced to try and walk in a straight line. He was never charged with any link to terrorism whatsoever. Below, this very same man is chained and made to insert a banana in his butt.

Spc. Lynndie England seen here mercilessly dragging a prisoner across the ground. And below: She is photographed with Charles Graner as they placed bags over detainees’ heads and forced them to stroke themselves in front of women, something which must have been especially shameful for them in light of their religious customs.

Forced into sexually degrading positions as a means of humiliation. Clearly nothing was off-limits in the U.S. military’s attempts to “break” these men in.

The infamous “pyramid” photo, in which Charles Graner and Sabrina Harmon are photographed triumphantly standing over their captives’ mangled bodies. According to one of the men forced to form this human pyramid, each of them was made to masturbate as they climbed one on top of the other.

Graner and England arrogantly giving a “thumbs-up” sign to the camera, displaying their sheer pride in belonging to the “dominant” race. This image, more than any other, symbolizes U.S. imperialism and everything it stands for.

The following image could be one of the most disturbing yet, although it is unclear for certain what exactly is taking place. It was obtained by the Associated Press and was taken in Abu Ghraib in either 2003 or 2004. Perhaps not surprisingly the only person present in this photograph who has so far been positively identified is the man sitting with his back against the wall, identified as Adel L. Nakhla. Note the U.S. flag emblem located on the right shoulder of his uniform.

WALA AND BARA

February 6, 2024 in Uncategorized

So-called Islamic preachers and writers often portray Islam as a religion of peace that teaches Muslims to live with kuffar in peace. Deluded by the open-ended concept of “tolerance,” they cite numerous āyah and ahādīth that – rightfully so – serve to demonstrate that racial hatred has no place in Islam, but they do so for the purpose of advancing an agenda that attempts to “Islamize” more “liberal” concepts that the kuffār apply across the board for achieving evil, such as political pluralism, freedom of religion, and acceptance of sodomites.

Allah (سبحانه وتعالى) says:

Let not the believers take the disbelievers as Auliya (supporters, helpers) instead of the believers, and whoever does that will never be helped by Allah in any way, except if you indeed fear danger from them. And Allah warns you against Himself (His punishment), and to Allah is the final return.

(Surah Al Imran 3:28)

In doing so, these “du’āt” seek to encourage the kāfir societies they live in to be more accepting of them, rather than meeting the enmity of the mushrikīn with hatred and disavowal.

Allah (سبحانه وتعالى) says:

O you who believe! Take not as your advisors, consultants, protectors, helpers, or friends those outside your religion since they will not fail to do their best to corrupt you. They desire to harm you severely. Hatred has already appeared from their mouths, but what their breasts conceal is far worse. Indeed, We have made plain to you the verses if you understand

(Surah Al Imran 3:118)

These “du’āt” ignore misuse the concept of walā’ and barā’ (loyalty and disavowal for the cause of Allah), not bothering to educate their readers of the Muslim’s obligation to reject kufr, separate himself from the kuffār, abandon their lands, harbor enmity and hatred towards them, and wage war against them until they submit to the truth.

Allah (سبحانه وتعالى) says:

There has already been for you an excellent pattern in Ibrahim and those with him, when they said to their people, “Indeed, we are disassociated from you and from whatever you worship other than Allah. We have denied you, and there has appeared between us and you animosity and hatred forever until you believe in Allah alone”

(Surah Al Mumtahanah 60:4)

The example of Ibrahim (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَام) and those with him – meaning the prophets of Allah, as mentioned by the scholars of tafsīr – which was praised by Allah as being an excellent example for us to follow, is for one to be prepared to reject his own people when they fall into kufr and shirk, and not to remain attached to them on account of tribal or blood ties.

If this is the case with one’s own people with whom a common lineage is shared, how much more so in the case of those with whom one shares nothing more than a superficial characteristic such as skin color!

Allah (سبحانه وتعالى) says:

O you who believe! Take not as Auliya’ (supporters and helpers) your fathers and your brothers if they prefer disbelief to Belief. And whoever of you does so, then he is one of the Zalimun (wrong-doers)

(Surah At Tawbah 9:23)

Islamic perspective is to show the importance and significance of walā’ and barā’, and to state in clear and certain way that those who wage war against Islam and the Muslims will not be spared on account of their skin color or ethnicity.

Allah (سبحانه وتعالى) says:

Those who take disbelievers as allies instead of the believers. Do they seek with them honor [through power]? But indeed, honor belongs to Allah entirely

(Surah An Nisa 4:139)

The fate of a kāfir waging war against the Muslims is one and the same across the entire racial spectrum – slaughter. The reason for this is simple:

A Muslim’s loyalty is determined, not by his skin color, his tribal affiliation, or his last name, but by his faith. He loves those whom Allah loves and hates those whom Allah hates. He forges alliances for the cause of Allah and breaks relations for the cause of Allah.

Allah (سبحانه وتعالى) says:

O you who believe! Take not My enemies and your enemies as friends, showing affection towards them, while they have disbelieved in what has come to you of the truth, and have driven out the Messenger and yourselves (from your homeland) because you believe in Allah your Lord! If you have come forth to strive in My Cause and to seek My Good Pleasure, (then take not these disbelievers and polytheists as your friends). You show friendship to them in secret, while I am All-Aware of what you conceal and what you reveal. And whosoever of you (Muslims) does that, then indeed he has gone (far) astray from the Straight Path

(Surah Al Mumtahana 60:1)

The mufassir of the Ummah, ‘Abdullāh Ibn ‘Abbās (رضي الله عنه) said,

“Love for the sake of Allah, hate for the sake of Allah, make allegiance for the sake of Allah, and make enemies for the sake of Allah, for the wilāyah (loving guardianship) of Allah is not attained except by this. One will not find the taste of īmān, even if his prayer and fasting is great, until he is like this”

(Reported by Ibn Al Mubārak in “Az-Zuhd” and by Al Lālikā’ī)

Allah (سبحانه وتعالى) says:

You see many of them taking the disbelievers as their Auliya’. Evil indeed is that which their own selves have sent forward before them; for that (reason) Allah’s Wrath fell upon them, and in torment they will abide

(Surah Al Maaida 5:80)

The statement of Ibn ‘Abbās (رضي الله عنه) echoes that made by the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و سلم) when declaring walā’ and barā’ to be the strongest bond of faith.

Al Bara Ibn Āzib (رضي الله عنه) said that they were sitting with the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و سلم) when he (صلى الله عليه و سلم) asked,

“What bond of Islam is the strongest?” They said, “The prayer.”

He (صلى الله عليه و سلم) said, “It is good, but it is not it.” They said, “The zakāh.”

He (صلى الله عليه و سلم) said, “It is good, but it is not it.” They said, “Fasting Ramadan.”

He (صلى الله عليه و سلم) said, “It is good, but it is not it.” They said, “The hajj.”

He (صلى الله عليه و سلم) said, “It is good, but it is not it.” They said, “Jihād.”

He (صلى الله عليه و سلم) said, “It is good, but it is not it. Indeed, the strongest bond of Islam is to love for the sake of Allah and hate for the sake of Allah”

(Musnad Imām Ahmad and others)

It was this principle – the strongest and most firm bond of Islam – that led Abū Bakr As Siddiq (رضي الله عنه) to spend an enormous quantity of wealth in order to purchase the Ethiopian slave Bilal (رضي الله عنه) and set him free.

When Bilal’s owner Umayyah ridiculed Abū Bakr at the conclusion of the transaction stating that he would have sold him for one tenth of the price they’d agreed on, Abū Bakr answered in angry way that if Umayyah had demanded ten times the agreed price he would have paid it.

Years later, Abū Bakr and 300 other Arabs would march forth in the Battle of Badr alongside the former Ethiopian slave striking the necks of their own people.

That day would be referred thereafter as the Day of Furqān, the day that Allah divided between truth and falsehood at the hands of a people who slay and imprison their own people for the cause of Allah.

No day before it made it clearer that all past relations were broken, leaving only one bond remaining – the bond between a believing Muslim and his brother, regardless of race or ethnicity.

Thus, it was not strange to the believers to hear the Prophet

(صلى الله عليه و سلم) declare that his own father, as well as his closest uncle, Abū Tālib, were both disbelievers who would be punished by Allah in Hell, while also stating that he had heard Bilal’s footsteps in Jannah.

The Muhājirīn and Ansār have recognized that their strength is in their unity upon tawhīd, not in any racial affiliations. The words of Shaykh Abū Mus’ab Az Zarqawi (رحيم الله) who once stated,

“We perform jihād so that Allah’s word becomes supreme and the religion becomes completely for Allah.

Allah (سبحانه وتعالى) says:

And fight them until there is no fitnah and [until] the religion, all of it, is for Allah

(Surah Al Anfāl 8:39)

Everyone who opposes this goal or stands in the path of this goal is an enemy to Islam and should be dealt with, whatever his name may be and whatever his lineage may be.

Religion that Allah revealed to be a scale and a judge. Its statement is decisive and its judgment is not amusement. Islamic laws are Qur’anic, and the judgments are upon the prophetic tradition.

Muslims must come together and wage war against the tawāghīt. Their fierce loyalty towards one another is rooted in their īmān in Allah and their disbelief in the tāghūt.

Allah brought the believers hearts together, and thus, they became

brothers by His grace, loving each other for the sake of Allah, standing in a single trench, defending and guarding each other, and sacrificing themselves for one another.

Their blood mixed and became one, under a single flag and goal, in one pavilion, enjoying this blessing, the blessing of faithful brotherhood. If kings were to taste this blessing, they would abandon their kingdoms and

fight over this grace.

Allah (سبحانه وتعالى) says:

Indeed, the earth belongs to Allah. He causes to inherit it whom He wills of His servants. And the [best] outcome is for the righteous

(Surah Al A’rāf 7:128)

Indeed, racism is a tool of Shaytān, which, like nationalism, is intended to divide and weaken the children of Adam and prevent them from uniting upon the truth.

For just as nationalists would never wage jihād beyond their borders to spread Islam to the corners of the earth and wipe out shirk, likewise racists would not be inclined to disavow any members of their race except for those whom they deem “self-hating,” let alone fight them for the sake of raising high the word of Allah.

The Muslim, however, does not accept the Ummah remaining divided in the name of petty concepts, for he recognizes that the only acceptable line of division is that which separates between a Muslim and a kāfir, whereas any other course of division would only be a source of weakness.

Allah (سبحانه وتعالى) says:

And do not dispute and [thus] lose courage and [then] your strength would depart

(Surah Al Anfāl 8:46)

It’s important to note that the forces of kufr and apostasy have understood that they are further weakened when divided. As such, they regularly hasten to set aside their differences for the sake of waging war against the truth.

Shaytān incites the children of Adam to split and divide along racial, ethnic, and tribal lines in order to divert them from maintaining the firm bond of walā’ and barā’, so too does he incite them to set aside such petty differences for the sake of uniting them in waging war against Islam.

And as Allah informs us, the answer to any coalition of disbelievers seeking to wage war against Islam and the Muslims is for the Ummah to strengthen its walā’ and barā’.

Allah (سبحانه وتعالى) says:

And those who disbelieved are allies of one another. If you do not do so, there will be fitnah on earth and great corruption

(Surah Al Anfāl 8:73)

So, let every Muslim who wishes to taste the sweetness of walā’ and barā’ follow the example of Ibrahim (عليه والسلام) and declare enmity towards the kuffār amongst his own people – whether black, white, Arab, or non-Arab – and then march forth and wage war against them with whatever means are available to

Life of Muhammad (Saw) Part 1/53 (Seerah)

January 28, 2024 in Seerah

Definition of seerah: A path a Person Takes in their Life ( Conduct, way of life, biography, etc ) it is the life of a person, in this case, we are studying the life of Muhammad (SAW)

Why is it Important to Learn Seerah: 1) The Life of Muhammad SAW is the History of Islam. Learning his way of life will help us to do better in every Life aspect. We Must Understand How Important it is to follow his ways because the way he did things is perfect with the greatest probability of success in everything.

Muhammad IBn Saad bin Waqas (Saad Bin Waqas was One of the 10 promised Jannah) his son Muhammad used to say that Saad bin Waqas would teach him the battles of Rasool Allah (SAW) and say these are the traditions of your fathers so study them.

They used to refer to seerah as maghazi, which means battles & Hussain ibn Ali used to say that we were taught seerah like we were taught the Quran. That’s how important Seerah was to them.

The life of all the Ambiya was recorded in the Quran and the life of Rasool Allah was recorded in the Seerah.

2) To Develop the Love for Rasool Allah (saw) we must study seerah, because loving him is ibada, without knowing his life you can never truly love him. Rasool Allah (Saw) Said that none of you will attain true deen until you love me more than your parents, children, and the whole world.

Umar Bin Khattab (RA) Came to Rasool Allah (saw) and said “Oh Rasool Allah, I love you more than anyone in this world, except myself. Rasool Allah (saw) replied until you love me more than yourself, you will attain complete faith. He thought about this and came back and said “Oh Rasool Allah now I love you more than even myself.” This means that one can not attain true Faith until he can Sacrifice even His/Her self for the sake of this deen.  Islam Requires Strictness and Steadfastness. The Idea of Islam Being Easy is Utter nonsense.

Is it Easy to be Lazy or Easy to be Active,  Islam requires you to be active. Is it Easy to Lose Control every time an obstacle comes your way or is it easy to have patience & Sabr, Islam Requires patience. Is it easy to Ignore the current State of the ummah and live your life with comfort, or is it easy to stand up for the truth, and remove your comfort for the sake of your brothers and sisters who are suffering, Islam Requires you to stand for the truth & Justice. Then How can one say that Islam is easy?  Islam Promises rewards in return for difficulty. Is there anything good in life that comes easy?  The better something is the harder it is to obtain it. So do not be under the assumption that you can continue living a life of hypocrisy and attain faith and be rewarded jannah, Have you confused Islam with Christianity? Then Wake up.

How Can Our Faith be complete when we don’t even know who Muhammad (saw) is? & if you love him and do not follow him then you will be among the hypocrites.

Amr bin al-as was on his deathbed weeping/crying. So his son reminded him that he had been given a lot of glad tidings from Rasool Allah (saw) for example he (saw)  said on one occasion that “Amr has attained faith” so why are you crying? Amr bin Al-as replied that he used to despise/hate Rasool Allah saw in the times of jahiliya and if i died that time, I would have been in hellfire. But then Allah put the love for Rasool Allah (saw)  in my heart and I went to him and told him to extend your hand so I can give baya/ announce my acceptance of Islam. When rasool allah extended his hand, Amr pulled his hand away saying I have a condition that you will not hold me accountable for everything I did against the Muslim before this, Rasool Allah (saw)  laughed and said” do you not know oh Amr, that 3 things wipe you clean from all sins. Hijrah for the sake of Allah cleans all your sins, hajj for the sake of Allah cleans all your sins, and accepting Islam for the sake of Allah cleans all your sins. And then I loved him so much that I could not even look at his face out of respect and love for him and if you asked me today how he looked I would not have been able to tell you.

Suhail Bin Amr was an international negotiator. He was sent by Quraish to negotiate with Rasool Allah “saw” before sullah hudaybiyya. He saw how the sahaba treated Rasool Allah (saw). So he went back to Quraish and said I have gone to many empires and nations, however, I have never met a leader loved by his people like Rasool Allah was loved by the sahaba, He said I have seen nothing like it in the world. He said I saw amazing things, Rasool Allah would be making wudu and sahaba would be running to collect the water dripping from his body, he then said “do whatever you want, his people would never give him up. They will die before giving him up.”

Whatever the enemies of Allah say, Allah has honored his Rasool in this world and hereafter. 5 Times a day every masjid’s Imam Says his name, and Billions of Muslims send salutations to him, Most People in this world are named after him. The Name Muhammad Means The Praised One, and Allah has proved the meaning of his name ( Saw ).

Allah (Sa) says in Surah Tawbah: Verse 24.

Say, [O Muḥammad], “If your fathers, your sons, your brothers, your wives, your relatives, wealth which you have obtained, commerce wherein you fear decline, and dwellings with which you are pleased are more beloved to you than Allāh and His Messenger and jihād in His cause, then wait until Allāh executes His command. And Allāh does not guide the defiantly disobedient people.”

3) We Learn Seerah to Follow Rasool Allah (Saw) Because He was an example and mercy for mankind.

4) To Understand the Quran Better.  Because most of the quran is talking about the events taking place in his lifetime so we will have the background of what quran is actually talking about. Understand that the Quran is not just stories of previous times, it is telling us to take examples and learn from them otherwise what good is it for us if we don’t benefit from it?

5) Seerah teaches us the perfect way and steps that every Islamic movement should learn from. He started the movement of Islam with the help of Allah in every step. Is it not important for us to follow his steps and the way he started and ended things? He was extremely successful in what he started, our being Muslim is an example of it. He Started with a secret Dawah, Then went Public, Then later on Jihad, so it went through stages. These stages are important for every Islamic movement.

This methodological progression of the prophet’s life is divinely directed, for Allah has guided his prophet in all of his steps, and it was not a reaction to emerging circumstances. They were planned by Allah so they will be the guidance for us in our attempts to establish Islam again and again.  How unfortunate that this important concept of seerah has been abandoned by muslim parents, Islamic countries, & Schools.

Quran and sunnah are verbal teachings, but seerah shows you how to apply these teachings. Without Application, are there any benefits of your Quran and Sunnah Knowledge? Even Non-Muslims can read Quran Translation and sunnah. A believer applies these Teachings, that’s the only thing that sets you apart from every other human.

6) Learning Seerah is ibada and we hope that this session is surrounded by angels right now.

7) Muslim Identity without Seerah Can not be identified, because seerah is the base of our identity, our history our training, and our connection to Rasool Allah (saw).

There is a global culture at play that is unforgiving, you either accept it or be ready to defend yourself against this culture. It is the culture of United States Designed Democracy, If you play by their rules then you are somewhat safe but if you do not then you are a threat to their culture. Thomas Freedman Said “The Hidden hand of the market can not survive without the hidden fist. McDonalds cannot flourish without McDonnell Douglas (Maker of fighter jets). The hidden fist that keeps the world safe for Silicon Valley’s technologies to flourish is called the US Army, air force, navy, and Marine Corps “https://tareeq-al-ghuraba.com/the-most-organised-criminal/

This Western Culture can not co-exist with anything else. The only way for this culture to flourish is to cut all other cultures by their roots. It is a very well-established fact accepted by the world “ To Destroy a people you Must Destroy Their Roots. We as Muslims do not want our roots to be cut.

You Must open your eyes to understand that the biggest threat to their culture is Islam because if Islam was only a religion then it would be okay with them but Islam is a culture in itself, which repels their culture, and those Muslims who treat this Islam as a religion are accepting a culture other then Islam, woe to them. The Ummah is facing war from every direction, Physical, Psychological, and educational, our kids are being Destroyed by this culture, so our generations will accept their culture. But Allah has promised that there will always be his people who will stand up. Our Identity is Compromised. This Seerah Course will Repair Our Identity.

Our Local Identity Must Always be Secondary to the Islamic Identity, Islam Repels the concept of nationalism because our nation is the ummah and our brothers and sisters are all around the world. We are at a stage where The problems that are not in our houses, do not concern us. What’s Happening in Falasteen should concern every British Muslim and what’s happening in Kashmir should concern every American Muslim. What happens in every corner of the Muslim world, should worry me as if it is happening to me.

Reminders:

During this Lesson and every Lesson, the First time you hear the name Rasool Allah (saw) it is mandatory to send a salutation to him (sallalahu alaihi wasallam) and everytime after that during the same audio, it will be recommended but not mandatory.

Jahiliyya means the ignorance before Islam or the time without the message. Even the time after the message and people ignoring the message is also called the time of jahiliyyah, for example, the times of today can very well be considered as jahiliyyah.

The hidden fist that keeps the world safe for Silicon Valley’s technologies to flourish is called the US army, air force, navy and Marine Corps.

‘The hidden hand of the market will never work without the hidden fist. McDonalds cannot flourish without McDonnell Douglas. The hidden fist that keeps the world safe for Silicon Valley’s technologies to flourish is called the US army, air force, navy and Marine Corps.’
THOMAS FRIEDMAN, right wing US journalist

Two murderers were due to meet this week to discuss their plans for keeping the world in poverty and at war. Tony Blair was to shake the hand of George W Bush in the US a week after they sent 24 planes to bomb Iraq. They killed two civilians, one a young woman of 20.

They say these crimes were done for humanitarian purposes. But how is bombing innocent civilians humanitarian? What threat do they pose to US and British fighter jets? The bombing was part of the US’s ten year long destruction of Iraq. Sanctions and repeated bombings have killed over one million Iraqis since the end of the Gulf War of 1991.

This devastation, and the terror brought by the bombs, is not something separate from the global plunder unleashed by multinational corporations. It is not separate from the hunger and disease the IMF and the World Bank ensure spreads across the poorest areas of the world. Governments, the World Bank and the IMF send the bills. The military goes in as the bailiff.

Take the oil industry. US companies want cheap access to the oil of the Middle East, so the US government uses its military to ensure they get it. Bush himself is a former oil industry executive, as was his father. So too is US vice-president Dick Cheney.

Together they have already announced plans to open up the protected Alaskan National Wildlife Refuge to oil company exploitation. Bush’s insane plan for a National Missile Defence (NMD) system, a ring of missiles which will supposedly protect the US from attack, also shows the deadly connection between the US government’s military aims and its multinationals’ economic aims.

Professor Paul Rogers of Bradford Universitys peace studies department writes: ‘The US defence industry is dominated by a few contractors such as Boeing, Lockheed and TRW. All have suffered in recent years, but they have immense lobbying power, close links with the Republicans and persistent vested interests in playing up threats to US interests. Many on the Republican right think the only threats to US dominance will come from China if it develops into an economic giant. One way to curb its growth is to force it to commit more money to defence, and the NMD system is one way of doing this. That may stimulate a dangerous nuclear arms race, but the Soviet giant was successfully ‘spent into an early grave’ and perhaps the same strategy can be applied to China.’https://socialistworker.co.uk/what-we-think/the-links-between-mcdonald-s-and-mcdonnell-douglas/#:~:text=’The%20hidden%20hand%20of%20the,’
